Place Card Holder

In search of a good place card holder for our wedding next year, I combed through google images for various versions of a chair holder. They mostly looked like this:

I made a prototype but we agreed that it was too fancy for our light summer wedding. So I had to improvise. I thought of making some kind of folding chair as those are the chairs that will be at the wedding (none of the expensive chair covers). The one thing we have in common would have to be movies: he loves making them, I love watching them. And so, I drew up a template for the director’s chair. This is the prototype.

It’s made from one attached sheet of paper (kind of like when you make a cube). All I had to do was cut and fold and glue the ends together. This allows me to put either a favours box or something under the chair to weigh it down (it’s an outdoor wedding by the water).

Although even the idea of having place card holders is quite fancy, I think I mostly wanted the holders just so I can make them =)
